I think I need to trust my instincts more! When I started my G-Watch.com review I was not impressed at all with their site, but thought it was only fair to give them a chance. When I received one of their replica watches I knew my first impression had been right! It was falling apart and missing some really simple markings and engravings. That's what I get for giving someone the benefit of the doubt!
Quality: Are These Watches Any Good?
The tip of the second hand broke off the third day I had my Panerai, and it got stuck around the 10 o'clock position, as you can see. When that happened, what remained of the second hand stopped turning entirely. As if that wasn't enough the engravings that should have appeared on the back of the casing were missing entirely. For $388 I expected their replica watches to be a lot better than this.
The Site: Usability and Design
Low budget is one thing, but it hardly seems like these guys are trying at all. The site design is as dull as it gets, and they make a few promises which are literally unbelievable. “200% Guarantee” was the one that really made me laugh out loud.
Service & Return Policy
When I told “Michael”, the customer service agent, that the second hand had come loose and wouldn't turn, he gave me an amazing response. Because the other hands were still working, the watch technically was good, so I couldn't get a refund. That's like saying your car still drives well enough even though there's no windshield! Eventually I was able to get a hold of a manager and he accepted the return, but the whole process was a real headache.
Shipping: Is It Fast and Reliable?
I had it sent by UPS but it took as long as if I'd just sent it by regular mail. 3 weeks and $25 later the watch finally arrived – I never got a tracking number.
The Bottom Line
My review of G-watch.com was a lot of trouble for nothing. Surprisingly, these guys did not hit me with the dreaded “restocking fee”, but I did lose the $25 I spent on shipping.
